"Can we talk for a moment?" James asked, gnawing on his lower lip nervously.
"Isn’t that what we’re doing now?" I teased, smiling broadly to hide my own flutters of nerves.
"About the other night… I’m real sorry about your feet," James stammered. "I remember on the ship, watching you dance in the ballroom and…well I’m not as graceful as you." I blushed and ducked my head. “And I know I’ve been kind of jerky lately - so I’m sorry for that too.”
"It’s alright - we’re all entitled to our days now and then…"
"Wanna sit and watch the sunset? The rain finally cleared out and…"
"Absolutely!" I said quickly, cutting off his rambling.
"Ya know, of all the people to be stuck on a deserted island with - I’m glad it’s you."
